Haiku By You Contest Winners

Brief and Brilliant!

We congratulate Haiku By You Contest winners, 1st place Rupinder Kaur Bains, 2nd place Mackenzie Bligh, and 3rd place Jennifer Hartley, for their remarkable poetic responses to Japanese woodblock prints from our exhibition, Against the Grain: Japanese Woodblock Prints from the University of Alberta Art Collection.

The winning poems were chosen from among over 250 entries submitted by students from across Alberta. The creativity and caliber of all of the entries made the selection of the top three a challenge.

Thank you to all of the teachers and students for their enthusiastic participation in this contest. Thank you also to the University of Alberta Bookstore and The Paint Spot for supplying the prizes for our winning poets.
